Understanding the specs

Refresh rate

How many frames per second the screen draws. 120–144 Hz is a clear step up from 60; 165–180 Hz suits fast genres; 240–360 Hz targets competitive play.

Response time

How quickly a pixel changes shade — lower means less smearing behind motion. The fastest panels here are around a millisecond; IPS sits a few milliseconds higher.

Panel type

IPS holds colour accuracy and viewing angles across the range. Fast HVA trades a little of both for deeper contrast in dark scenes.

Frequently asked questions

Which Kuycon monitor is best for gaming?
It depends on what you play. An ultrawide gives you 21:9 immersion and the widest view of the map; a 5K panel gives you the sharpest text and detail; a dual-mode model drops resolution on demand to push the frame rate for competitive play. The table above lists what each one runs.
Do these gaming monitors work with a PC and a Mac?
Yes. All connect over USB-C, DisplayPort or HDMI 2.1 and work with Windows, Linux and Mac computers with Apple Silicon. High refresh at 4K/5K needs a capable GPU; one USB-C cable can also charge a laptop up to 100 W.
What refresh rate do I need?
120–144 Hz is a big step up from 60 Hz for most games; 165–180 Hz adds smoothness for fast genres; past 300 Hz is competitive territory, which the dual-mode models reach by dropping resolution.
What about response time and HDR?
Response runs from about a millisecond on the fastest panel here to a few milliseconds on IPS. Every model supports HDR — the table above gives each one’s peak brightness.
